The painting technique itself with the Tibetan art style is extremely
refined, the pigment used is flat and thin, and it emphasizes outlining
in the most subtle way. This style is beautifully captured in the medium
of Tibetan paintings by the blending of the typical iconographical setting
with the color schemes being used.
The symbolism of color is of great importance. The sadhanas (ancient
manuals laying down procedures for worship) are very particular in stipulating
the colors of the deities visualized.
This color is intended not only to unfold the nature of the deity represented
but also to indicate the functions to be performed by that deity.
These prints represent the flow of art itself. They start as giclees
-- the finest six-color prints available -- and are hand-retouched and
interpreted. They are then digitized and the process begins anew. Each
is numbered, and each is of a limited edition.
The final product is a 15 x 20 inch giclee print on canvas.
